Kozmogoni ve Toplumsal Tabakalaşma: Vedik Mitoloji Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Abstract

Bu çalışmada mit ve toplumsal tabakalaşma arasındaki ilişki kadim Hindistan örneği üzerinden açıklanacaktır. İlk bölümde mitoloji çalışmalarına dair genel çerçeve özetlenip, Bronislaw Malinowski'nin mitlerin toplumsal kurum ve işbölümünü destekleyici işlevini öne çıkaran, sosyolojik yaklaşımına değinilir. Buradan hareketle ikinci bölümde, kadim Hind toplumsal tabakalaşma sistemi, Hinduizmin kutsal metinleri Vedalar'da kayda geçirilmiş kozmogonik mitlerin ana teması kurban eylemi ile ilişkisi itibariyle tartışılır

In this study, the relationship between myth and social stratification is explained through an analysis of ancient India. In the first part, the general framework of current mythological studies are summarized and Bronislaw Malinowski's sociological approach which highlights the myths function to support social institutions as well as the division of labor is mentioned. In the second part the ancient Indian social stratification system is discussed through its relationship to the main theme of cosmogony of Vedas, the act of sacrifice
