İkinci Meşrutiyet Döneminin Başlarında Osmanlı Sarayında Padişah Huzurunda Bir Eğitim Faaliyeti: Huzur Dersleri

Abstract

Osmanlı Devleti’nin yaklaşık iki yüz yıllık bir geleneği olan huzur dersleri, resmi olarak 1759’da başlamış ve 1924 yılına kadar devam etmiştir. Önemli bir kültürel faaliyet olan bu dersler, Rama zan ayında sarayda padişahın huzurunda dönemin meşhur bilginleri tarafından sekiz oturum şeklinde Kâdı Beyzâvî tefsirinin münazaralı biçimde müzakeresiyle gerçekleşmiştir. Bu derslerin muhtevası tahlil edildiğinde ve derslere ilişkin daha kapsamlı düşünüldüğünde bu derslerde sadece tefsir konularına veya dinî içerikli mevzulara değil aynı zamanda Osmanlı siyasal ve top lumsal meselelerine de temas edildiği anlaşılmaktadır. Nitekim dersleri icra eden âlimler, ilgili Kur’an âyetleri ve hadisler ışığında derslerde, yeri geldiği ölçüde devlet ve toplum yapısı ile ilgili efkâr ve nazariyatlarını belirtip, dönemlerinin siyasî ve sosyal sorunlarına değinmişlerdir. Bu an lamda bu çalışmada huzur derslerinin kapsamı ve sistematiği ile ilgili kısa bir bilgi verilmesinin ardından söz konusu dönemde bu derslerde ne gibi konulara değinildiği ve bunların toplumsal ve siyasal açıdan tahlilini içeren genel bir bakış çizilmeye çalışılacaktır.

The Huzur lectures (the lessons held in the presence of Sultan) which are a tradition lasting 200 years in Ottoman State, started officially in 1759 and lasted until 1924. These lessons that are a crucial cultural activity were given by famous scholars in eight-session of in the presence of Sul tan and in form of discussion, of Kâdı Beyzâvî’s exegesis in Ramadan month. When the content of these lessons is analyzed and when the lessons are considered more comprehensively, it is understood that these lessons were not just put emphasis on exegesis matters and religious ques tions but also Ottoman political and social issues. As a matter of fact, the scholars who conduc ted the lessons, in the light of Quranic verses and Hadith, stated their ideas and thoughts about the state and social structure, and touched on the political and social problems of their time. In this sense, in this study, after giving a brief information about the scope and systematics of the huzur lectures, it will be tried to draw a general view, including what the subjects were mentio ned in these lectures in the said period and their social and political analysis.
