| dc.description.abstract | Income inequality is one of the most studied topics since the existence of economics. Its analysis within the economic complexity gained momentum in the 2000s. In this study, the scaling indicator is used as a measure of income inequality in complex systems. In addition, the effects of income inequality on energy consumption have been analyzed considering the complexity of the systems. In this context, fractal dimensions of income distribution are calculated on the basis of the scaling indicator for Turkey and its regions. After that its relationship with energy use, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and population density are examined. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2020.
