Özet
This paper mostly depends upon the Ottoman archivial documents and deals with the activities of the Armeneian militias in Egypyt during 1890's. Egypt was under occupation of British Empire after 1882. This stuation introduced some geographical and political advantages for the Armenians who were planning terrorist activities in Anatolia and Istanbul. There existed a small but organized Armenian society in Egypt. Their population was about 30.000 and encourage to Armenian activists. Moreover, Armenians in Egypt had impressive professions such as banker, craftsman, tradesman, doctor, interpreter, clerk, engineer, architecture so that they had a good political and social level. The Armenian activists tried to get benefits from their economic and social status. The events that developed during 1890's under study increased the ethnic conscious for the Armenians who lived in Egypt. Armenian activists established an organization in Alexandria and began to use this harbor city as a bridge for their activities to transfer money, arms and man power to the Ottoman Empire.
