BÜYÜK SELÇUKLULAR DÖNEMİ’NDE HEMEDAN’IN SİYASİ TARİHİ

Abstract

Cibal bölgesinin önemli şehirlerinden biri olan Hemedan Ortaçağ’da hem jeopolitik konumuhem de siyasî ve iktisâdî özellikleriyle ön plâna çıkmış bir merkezdi. Verimli topraklara sahip olan veticaret yolları üzerinde bulunan, diğer yandan bölgedeki askerî geçiş güzergâhının önemlinoktalarından birisi olan Hemedan kuruluşundan itibaren birçok tarihî hadiseye tanıklık eden birkent olmuştur. Müslümanlar tarafından ele geçirildikten sonra da gelişmeye devam eden şehirSelçukluların bölgeye gelişiyle Türklerin hâkimiyeti altına girmiş ve batıdaki önemli kentlerindenbiri hâline gelmiştir. Her ne kadar Selçuklu hükümdarları hânedan üyelerini bu bölgeyi yönetmeleriiçin göndermişlerse de şehrin idaresinin kendilerine bağlı kalmasına özen göstermişlerdir. Busebeple Hemedan merkezli oluşabilecek bağımsızlık hareketlerine de izin vermeyerek olmasımuhtemel hadiselerin önüne geçmişlerdir. Selçuklu sultanlarının batıya doğru gerçekleştirdiklerifetihlerde önemli bir askerî ve siyasî üs görevini üstlenen Hemedan şehrine ayrı bir ihtimamgösterildiği devrin kaynaklarından anlaşılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Büyük Selçuklular dönemindeHemedan şehrinin haiz olduğu ehemmiyet ve bu kentte vuku bulan hadise ve gelişmeler kaynaklarınverdiği bilgiler ışığında ele alınacaktır.

Hamad?n, an important city of Jibal region, rose as a centre thanks to its geopolitical location and political and economic qualities during the Medieval period. Already containing fertile soil and being located on trade routes, Hamad?n was also a significant crossroad point for military transit routes in the region and had witnessed numerous historical events since its foundation. Maintaining its rise with its capture by Muslims, the city came under the domination of the Turks with the arrival of the Seljuks and became their one of the most important cities in the west. Although the Seljuk rulers sent the dynasty members to govern the region, they also opted to keep the city’s administration solely under their own control. Consequently, they survived potential unwanted incidents by avoiding the possibility of Hamad?n-centred independence movements. The sources of this period clearly demonstrate that the Seljuk sultans displayed a special interest for the city of Hamad?n which was a significant military and political base for westward Seljuk conquests. This study evaluates the significance of the city of Hamad?n during the Seljuk period along with the incidences and developments the city experienced under the light of the data the sources provide.
