Sanat Seramiğinde Sır Kullanımına Farklı Bir Bakış

Abstract

Seramik sırı, seramik nesnenin yüzeyini kaplayan ince camsı bir malzemedir ve yalıtmak, hijyen sağlamak, estetik bir görünüm elde etmek vb. gibi sebeplerle kullanılagelmiştir. Bu makalede, çeşitli sebepler göz önünde bulundurularak kullanılan seramik sırının, bugün tek başına, üç boyutlu bir eser üretiminde bir malzeme olarak alandaki yerinin nasıl değiştiğine ve güçlendiğine değinilmiştir. Öncelikle internet taraması yapılmış ve sanatçıların eserlerine ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Ulaşılan tüm yabancı sanatçıların çoğunun birbirleriyle etkileşim hâlinde oldukları, aralarında bilgi paylaşımı olduğu ve tekniğin hızla değişip gelişmeye devam ettiği bilgisine erişilmiştir. Kullanılan tekniğe ve elde edilen sonuca göre; sırın sanatçılar tarafından farklı isimlerle anıldığı ve bu sayede literatüre yeni kelimeler kazandırıldığı da gözlemlenmiştir. Bu çalışma ile bilindik yöntemlerin ilerisinde, farklı içeriklere sahip sırların tek başına kullanımının, seramik üretiminde sanatçıların bir ifade yolu olarak sanatsal tarz ve dillerini etkileyen önemli faktörlerden biri olarak yerini almanın üstesinden geldiği, literatür taramaları ve sanatçı eserleri üzerinden tespitlerle ortaya konularak, belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.

Ceramic glaze is a thin glassy material that covers the surface of the ceramic object and has been used for various purposes such as insulation, hygiene, aesthetic appearance among others. This article discusses how the use of ceramic glaze has changed and how it has strengthened its role as a material that can be used alone, even in the production of a three-dimensional work. The initial research phase is based on literature review and contacting a variety of artists. It has been identified that the majority of the interviewed foreign artists share unique information that shows how the technique continues to change and develop rapidly. It has also been observed that, depending on the technique used and the result obtained, the glaze is referred to by different names by the artists, and therefore, new words have been added to the literature. With this study it has been proven through literature reviews and artists’ works that, beyond the usual methods, the use of glazes that have different contents has been one of the important factors affecting the artistic style and language of the artists creative processes in ceramic production.
