Humankind, since its inception, has genetically been inclined to avoid chaos and establish a level of order. As a result of this process of establishing order, the Standard (an exemplary sample in production, perception, measurement and experiment) and the standardization (the act of making and applying generalized rules set by the cooperation and support of all related parties in order to obtain economical profit in a certain venture) are as old as humanity itself. Technology is an ever-developing entity, and alongside its affecting our lives, it is critically integrated with the spaces we live in and is inclined to organize. While the current period we occupy is very much defined by the speed of technological developments, this eventually has affected the field of interior design, providing new materials and techniques, expanding the possibilities regarding both the end product and the process it is made in. In regard to these notions, this paper will try to address the basic need of sheltering and the subsequent activity of space design alongside the contemporary spaces we occupy. Digital art, much characterized by its capacity and nature to integrate various fields of processes with the new definitions it produces, has been able to define its own medium concurrently with its own scope. Occupying the background of this field, the arrival and evolution of the information and communication age starting from the '70s, have a profound effect in the field of design. This effect is much visible in the new software and mediums of representation and of formmaking, generating a new understanding of aesthetics. In commonplace design processes, involving the realization of various concepts, the analog sketch drawings and handmade models are very effective methods. This paper, looking at the mediums and scope of digital art in the context of architectural design, inclines to find and define the suitable methodologies in the presence of modern technologies for an effective design process. In a way and in detail, this study tries to relocate the formerly handmade architectural drawing in the light of these new tools and the digital art alongside the abilities of human intuition. The paper will maneuver through the potentials and limitations of new technologies, listing out various software and techniques, in the phases of initial design and representation of architectural ideas. These effects, positive or disadvantageous, are analyzed through various aspects of the design process such as the support of digital tools in channeling ideas, the transfer of mental object into the digital and the transformation of the resulting product into the reality. Platforms like CAD and MAX, which will be assessed in depth in this paper, have become commonplace mediums for their ability to ease and enrich the process of design. In relation to this, the study draws attention to a significant fact that these platforms are based on and uses the same language and vocabulary of conventional and analog techniques and communication material that again makes them universal and widely applied in the contemporary design field.en_US
